Most of us will be arriving in Kennesaw, Georgia on Saturday, April 6. We will try to arrange a little gathering Saturday evening probably at the Hampton Inn (see below).
Our luxury bus will leave Kennesaw at 9:00am Sunday, April 7, from this location:
Hampton Inn Atlanta/Kennesaw
871 Cobb Place Blvd.
Kennesaw, GA 30144
This location is just off I-75. Here's a Google Maps link. There are about a dozen hotels/motels within short walking distance. If you're flying into the Atlanta area this weekend, be advised that this spot in Kennesaw is about 40 minutes by car (or Uber etc.) from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta airport.
For our night before the eclipse we will be stopping in Bowling Green, Kentucky, a couple of hours outside the path of totality. You will need to book your own hotel/motel room in Bowling Green (that's for Sunday night, April 7 check-in). The motel zone that you should choose from is two miles south of the Bowling Green-Woodhurst Airport around the intersection of Interstate 65 and US 231. There are many options to choose from in that zone.
Monday morning, eclipse day at last! We will leave Bowling Green at 7:00am and head for the best possible weather inside the path of totality. We cannot guarantee the weather, but odds look good right now. Totality occurs close to 3:00pm Eastern time. We will leave shortly after totality and make our way back to Kennesaw, which we should reach by midnight Monday night. Then we say our goodbyes. :)
