I am here in Kennesaw. Mark and I had lunch and agreed that everything is rolling along as planned. No problems!
I drove down from Rhode Island, and I have my car here. If any of you do not have a car and would like to run any errands, please feel free to ask. If so, please phone me at 401-644-6012. Short trips, up to ten miles, are on me. Just ask. If you need a longer distance ride, like from the airport, I can do that for a price (modest and fair, I promise).
As you all know by now:
Our luxury bus will leave Kennesaw at 9:00am tomorrow, Sunday, April 7, from this location:
Hampton Inn Atlanta/Kennesaw
871 Cobb Place Blvd.
Kennesaw, GA 30144
This is right next door to a big Target store, and I recommend grabbing supplies for Sunday and Monday. If you wish to wait until the last minute to shop, they open at 8:00am tomorrow.
The standard estimated trip time to Bowling Green, Kentucky (our stop Sunday night) is about 4.5 hours. We will add an hour to that, stopping for a break and a chance to meet everyone and an opportunity to talk about the eclipse. The plan is to stop somewhere at or near Chattanooga and before Nashville. A nice park? Maybe just a highway rest area? Weather-dependent, of course.
Tonight? I am game to meet with people this evening... Hotel bar? Please let us know. You all pick a time.
