    Re: wind effected by tide?

I noticed when we were on the northeast coast of Brazil that the wind seemed
gustier (perhaps a bit stronger as well) and there were more rain showers
whenever there was a spring tide condition. This pattern seemed to be present
during the whole of the 6 months we spent on this coast. My theory, at the
time, was that the greater tidal range uncovering more reef thereby allowing
more evaportation. I have no idea if this theory has been tested or not.
