    The situation you pose is a straw man:  GPS units are so cheap these days
    that you'd be a fool not to include one, along with the sextant.  Better
    still, be sure to have backups for both (you can break a sextant at sea
    every bit as easily as a GPS unit can break or the system itself go down
    when you most need it).
