Re: Is there a way to produce Sight reduction tables for air navigation

In volume 2 an 3 there are 6 pages of interpolation and auxiliary data (most of which are not used by surface navigators) plus 6 pages for each one degree of assumed latitude. If you are sailing in a limited latitude band (and which of us isn't) then you only need to print out a very limited number of pages, place in plastic protective envelopes and place in a three ring binder.
The are about 6 pages in volume one and then only two pages per latitude, even less to print out.

I recommend buying the volume for your normal latitude; I’ve never needed volumes 1 & 3 for my limited range in latitude of CN activities. Volumes are relatively compact and very sturdy. Print is very readable...becoming important for my eyes.

You can download volumes 2 and 3 for free from the government website at:
    See prior posts:
Ken, the owner of Celestaire, has made available all three volumes of HO 249 for a free download from his website. (Remember to buy your navigation equipment from Celestaire, I bought my first sextant there in 1977.) But you might like printed copies also available at Celestaire, its easier than printing out you own copies after you download them.
