Presumably, it was omitted from the scanning process for some reason.

I happen to have an unbound volume, "Selections from the additions that have
been occasionally annexed to the Nautical Almanac, from
its commencement to the year 1812." Printed by order of the Commisioners of
Longitude, London, 1813. Unfortunately, it doesn't show
the year of the almanac that a particular correction was extracted from. But
it contains a 12-page entry, "Remarks on the Hadley's
Quadrant", by the Rev. Nevil Maskelyne, BD, FRS, Astronomer Royal. This looks
likely to be a copy of the 1774 supplement that Alex
is looking for. If it is, and Alex is keen to see it, I am happy to scan and
post it, either directly to Alex's own email address,
or if interest is shown by others, to the Nav-l blackboard.

    George.
