Nial - Several members of this list are aficionados of slide rules, so there's a lot of resources here for you. My initial advice is to get a copy of Henry Shufeldt's book Slide Rule for the Mariner. (Amazon Marketplace often has copies). Shufeldt's skide rule is a Keuffel & Esser Log Log Duplex Trig. Log Log means it has logarithm scales. Duplex means it has scales on both sides. Trig means the trig scales are in degrees and minutes. If you see the designation Decitrig it means the trig scales are in degrees and tenths of a degree. If you buy a rule, be sure to get the manual for it. -Hewitt On 4/26/10, Nial McInerneywrote: > > > Looking for suggestions on which slide rule has trig functions in degrees > and minutes. I have never even held a slide rule but I want to learn.
