The electromagnetic pulse from a nuclear explosion is one of them, but
I believe the sub would have to be surfaced to experience that (I am
NOT a nuclear weapons expert, but I believe salt water would attenuate
an EMP just as it attenuates radio waves, and if the explosion were
underwater and close enough for the EMP to be felt by the sub, I
believe loss of all electronics would be the least of the sub's
problems).
BTW, Scott, thanks for your thoughts. Now all we have to do is to figure out how to sneak on that sub and see how she does sight reductions!
