Celestaire sells this document for a few bucks. You can easyly fill up the bubble assembly with xylene using the small set screw dedicated to this function on the bubble assembly. Pay attention when you take out the set screw not to loose a very small iron ball that is pressed in the threaded hole by the screw tip. It is best to use a bristol wrench to undo the screw. Use a syringe to force the xylene into the bubble assembly.

I just bought an A-12 via eBay. It seems to be in working order,
except there is no bubble - I took the bubble chamber out, and it
looks empty. Is this likely to be repairable? The sextant didn't
come with a manual, and I don't see any offered on eBay at the moment.
Would someone be willing to scan theirs? (I assume it would be a US
government document, so not subject to copyright - but if I'm out of
    line, just let me know.)

How low will we go? Check out Yahoo! Messenger’s low  PC-to-Phone call rates.

An inexpensive syringe will work but you have about 5 minutes before the xylene begins to react with the o-rings inside.
