Alan,
$25 should get you a functional K&E 4080 which does trig in degrees and minutes. If you are ok with degrees and tenths then a bamboo Post Versalog is good. Lots of nautical applications. Time, speed, distance, and ETA are easy and fast. CN is accurate enough on altitudes below 30*. Great for azimuths and amplitudes.
