George H, you wrote: "Some odd postings have come my way just recently." Yes. I'm keeping an eye on it. There's definitely a numbering bug, but so far it's just a nuisance. The message from John, #3295, was duplicated (same content, same number). This has happened a couple of times before in the past six months. If it becomes more annoying, we can try to get the attention of the google techies. The fact that the message was blank (except for a quotation from a previous message) was a coincidence, and just as you suggest, I think it was just "finger-trouble". The other message from Gary did not duplicate to the rest of the list, so I think the explanation here is simple: Gary sent you a copy off-list. In fact, the absence of a fresh message number for me is a quick reminder that I'm looking at an off-list message. Could there be other numbering bugs? Yes. Message numbering is rather rarely used in these groups, so there are not many people exposed to whatever problems there may be. Please, all of you, feel free to email me off-list if you have any other concerns or questions on this topic. -FER [wearing list manager hat] [also wearing annoyed hat since my previous long message got toasted when my email session timed out. grrr...] --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to NavList@fer3.com To , send email to NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
