My advise is to buy one on e-bay. If it is not "ready to use", buy another one. Until you get one ready to use. Air sextants on e-bay are cheap as dirt. Celestaire offers them at about 5-10 times the average e-bay price, and you should be able to get a working one from e-bay. (I was lucky: the first air sextant I bought on e-bay was working pretty well. This was an MkIXa), and I bought is for about $60. Alex.
