Dan, Why do you talk about getting it serviced ? This is an adjustment that the Navigator can make to the sextant. The text books say that one should not worry about a few minutes, to try and correct this. Correcting out small off/on the arc erros are called "worrying the sextant" and eventually end up with the adjusting screws becoming "loose". In any case we calulate out the small differences.
