"Astronomical Algorithms" by Jean Meeus has formulas for computing celestial body positions. It's one of the classic references for hobbyists. (So is his earlier work, "Astronomical Formulae for Calculators".) However, I'm not sure if his methods can match the Nautical Almanac's 0.1 arc minute accuracy. There are implementations of the JPL planetary ephemerides available online for free. These can replicate even the Astronomical Almanac tabulations to full accuracy. -- I block messages that contain attachments or HTML. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to NavList@fer3.com To , send email to NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
