    I am sure that you would find the data you seek already present on a
    Pilot Chart which may be viewed at
    <>.
      You should find wind speed/direction data for each month of the year
    in a matrix form of small compass roses overlayed on the chart of
    interest, south Pacific in your case.  These are the key charts used by
    navigators for planning a voyage.  They contain other information as
    well.  I believe that N. Bowditch was the first to collect, organize,
    and reduce this type of data.  This should make your research easier.
