The following works for me, using the Daily Pages of the NA. I've selected from the Daily Page covering 3,4, 5 June, where the d correction, bottom of the page is 0.3.
look at 5 June, 19 hours. Dec of Sun is N 22D 35,7 Min. Dec for 20 hours is N22 D 36 M, a lesser number.
Going to Increments & Corrections, gray edged pages in NA, picking 17 M 12 Sec, I simply picked this time, opposite 0.3, find 0.1, which you would subtract from Dec shown at the Daily Page you were working with.
As for why this, I will take the word of the people who produce the NA regarding this being what one should do. Also, it appeares to work.
