Just a bit more about the recovery of Gypsy Moth IV.

The head of UKSA was quoted as saying-

'The 60 cm-squared hole in Gypsy Moth's beam is repairable. ..", in
which cm-squared was actually written with a superscript of 2, after
cm. That's exactly what that notation implies.

However, I  was a bit unconvinced by that, in commenting-

"A 60 cm-squared hole (if that's what was really meant)
corresponds to a hole no bigger than about 3 inches by 3 inches; quite
    enough to flood her through."

I have since learned that the hole was actually more like 60 cm x 60
cm, that is, 3600 cm-squared, which is another matter altogether.
Whether the error was in the original statement, or in the reporting
of it, I have no idea.
