    Stan,
Well you struck gold here. I have the book and will send it to you, free gratis. I remember when the series came out, I was disappointed that the Navigation portion really did not have very much on CN.  Just charting, DR, etc. Otherwise we would have offered it in our catalog. Shoot me your ship-to address, and its on its way.

When I was leaving the Mystic Seaport Wooden Boat Show today, as I was loading the books I bought at the used book sale an older gentleman approached and asked me about the books I had.  He noticed the one on the top of the pile was an edition of Mary Blewitt's "Celestial Navigation for Yachtsmen" and asked about my interest in CN.  He introduced himself, but I did no catch his name, and we continued talking about CN books, which were good and which were not.  When our conversation was nearing the end, I asked his name again.  This time I heard it, and nearly fell over.  It turns out it was Halsey Herreshoff, the grandson of the famous America's Cup sailboat designer Nathanael Herreshoff, and a boat designer and America's Cup racer himself.  This was pretty special for me, as I am a somewhat regular visitor to the Herreshoff Marine Museum/America's Cup Hall of Fame.  (I found out later that he resigned as president of the museum in 2011.)

At that point the conversation was far from over.  One of the things he mentioned was that he had written an article on CN for one of the old Time-Life series of books, and thought I might be able to find it on line.  If I could, he asked me to take a look at it and let him know what I thought.  (He gave me his card.)  I tried to find the article, but was not successful.  There is a Seafarers series of 22 books, but I was not even sure that was the right series.

If any of you are familiar with the article and can tell me where to find it, or perhaps have it and can scan it and send to it me, I would very much appreciate it.
