You can buy brand new OEM Freiberger mirrors at NAVASTRO. http://navastro.fr/
You can deduct 20% VAT from the prices listed below as you don't pay this if you are not a resident from an EEC country. NAVASTRO can also re-silver your mirrors for 65 Euros apiece.
NAVASTRO peaple are very friendly and helpful people. You should also be able to order the same parts at CLAUSEN INSTRUMENTS in the USA for about the same price. http://clausen.american-data.net/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CICI&Category_Code=SE

I have just obtained a frieberger sextant circa 1988 with distressed mirrors and want to get then resilvered or replaced. can any list members offer suggestions? the freiberger mirrors are surface silvered (silvered on the face) not back silvered as the majority of mirrors are.

on a secondary note, can anyone offer a tip or hint on the removal and replacement of the mirror clips on a sextant? my fingers seem too big, too weak, or two few for the task, at least as I approach it.

    thanks all
