Thank you very much again!
Now I could taylor your fine scales to my liking (size 9 bold italic CourierNew font for labels; moved labels a bit closer to their marks, i.e. - a bit further from the neighbouring line). Those cut labels are still there, I guess I will hand-edit the PDF before printing.
I found this site for on-line PS-to-PDF conversion. Vey quick and easy (if one has such nice PS file in the first place!).
