Mike,
I have similar questions. Last summer (end of May-beginning
of June) I took a trip on a Norwegian Hurtigruten (Coastal steamer)
from Bergen to Tromso. The trip lasted 1 week, and there was no
SINGLE OPPORTUNITY to take an altitude of any celestial body
or a Lunar distance. So I thought that
probably not much of cel nav was
used in Norwegian waters in the past:-)
