Jim: please quote your sources! Are these ditch bag lists really just for navigation? - seems to me all the critical stuff should all be together in one container and/or duplicated across two such bags. Would be frustrating to take the water but forget the medical kit.. Epoxy cement would be very useful for making up a fishing spear or gaff...its good for dental repairs I have heard...repairing a broken torch...but as for navigation I can only think of repairing spectacles as being almost-directly relevant to navigation. Intyeresting speculation for a slow day at work.
