There seems to be a general acceptance that the light throughput for
whole horizon mirrors is less than for split mirrors. I admit I am
ignorant of whole horizon mirror sextants, but I would assume that
this horizon mirror is coated for 50% reflectance (and transmission)
so the light throughput should be just the same as a split mirror
    sextant. Shouldn't it?
