    I have a picture in my mind -- in a 1940's/1950's cartoon motif -- of a
nerdish fellow with horn-rimmed glasses, rippling muscles exposed by a torn
shirt (complete with pocket protector filled with pens and pencils), amidst
a storm-tossed sea. Our hero is clutching his trusty sextant in one hand,
raised high in the air, in defiance of danger. His other arm is firmly
wrapped around the waist of a beautiful damsel-in-distress, who in turn, is
clinging to him as she would to a lifering, gazing up at him with total
adulation. In the background is the quintessential football hero type
bobbing up and down in the waves, clutching what remains of his
    non-functioning GPS.

With apologies to the list for such a frivolous foray into fantasy......

    Robert
