Can someone explain what is new about this sunstone work?
I *think* I understand this, and it seems like what Leif Karlsen did in his book (Secrets of Viking Navigation) and I've used this for student projects. We've had pretty good results with optical quality calcite - which you can get from websites.
Maybe I'm missing something new about one?
