The Sea Horse aftermarket box has foam to custom fit any sextant and scope. This helps keep the horizon mirror from getting knocked. Not a 100 percent sailor proof which I found out the hard way but still pretty good.

Look at the way that sextant manufacturer's put extra kit into the case. Each item has a stow location and a method to secure it in that location. Unless the additional items you wish to add are securely stowed within the box, they become a hazard to your optics and mirrors. Imagine the thrill of a cracked lens or scratched mirror.
