as for the results you got with $51 worth of watches, you had 3 you mentioned, the old saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind, with one aadditional thought. If you are really lucky, sometimes you might get a lot more than you pay for, seemingly the case here, with your expirment.
By the way, my Casio G-shock "atomic" watch ticks on, so far as I can tell, without error.
