    I have read much on the list about the restoration of the aircraft sextants.
    In practical-use terms I know nothing past Ken's input including Dutch roll,
    and the affect of the Coriolis Force on the bubble when used from an
    aircraft (in flight).
    What is the purpose of the averager, and how (mechanically) does it achieve
    that function?
