    :-) Of course, truth be told, the lamp-post is the easy part; I can improvise a plumb line anywhere on dry land. But the part that's actually difficult is the almanac data. Next time I'm lost in the desert, what are the odds that I have remembered to bring my Nautical Almanac? Or I'm in range for cell phone access to get online data? I also need GMT, but I figure that's the easy part.
