I am aware of how cel-nav is done in flight - at least how the Air Force does. I have used the Air Almanac since the early 70's. Only after 8 or 10 years did I buy a marine type sextant and bought my first Nautical Almanac.
Your post made the point that I was trying to make - that the different almanacs are published for the people who use them. Airmen need less precision but speed, saliors need better precision but not as fine as surveyers and rocket scientisits need even more ( think JPL ).
By the way, I use the yellow card that I pulled from one of the few Nautical Almanacs I paid for. :-)
