    Using old nautical almanacs

I was browsing the internet looking for the answer to a question I have and found your web page. I am wanting to do an ocean passage next year (2012) and want to take along my sextant in case the beloved GPS dies. I have a 2004 Nautical Almanac, and seem to remember from my Celestial Navigation class that they can be reused on a 4 year cycle (except for the lunar data). Is this correct?

    Hope you can help
