    Relative to the stars along its path through the sky, the Moon's rate of motion is 33 minutes of arc per hour on average. It can be as high as 38' per hour at perigee and as low as 28' per hour at apogee. Since the Sun and planets are moving relative to the stars and usually in the same direction as the Moon, the rate of change of the distance between the Moon and the Sun, for example, is a little bit less than the rate for Moon-star distances, but it's not significant in the end.
