    Andrew,

An intercept of 22 NM from GPS is a bit much even for a Mark 3 Davis plastic sextant. Be sure to double check the upper/ lower limb entry for Henning's online program. Make both upper and lower limb observations on your next effort and reduce both to be sure you are bringing the limbs together correctly. If you reduced the sight as an upper limb instead of a lower limb (or vice versa) then a 32' error is introduced. Double check your index error both before and after each observation. Some plastic sextants have a tendency to not hold their index error. Good luck.

    Greg Rudzinski
