    If you know off the top of your head how many chains are in a furlong and how many sections are in a township, you are in that one special case where 1 m = 39.37 in exactly.

    If the word "furlong" makes your eyes glaze over, and in all other cases regardless, 1 in = 0.0254 m exactly.
