I am a retired USN pilot and administrator of the uboatarchive.net website. I want to learn to use my sextant (which to now I had used only with the aid of a computer) as U-boat navigators did. I have gotten as a far as my first sun sights reduced with HO229 - so far so good. I understand that U-boat Navigators probably used a Nautical Almanac plus the F-Tafel for sight reduction.
