Unfortunately, it's been several years since I tried coding the Explanatory Supp. formulas (on an HP-15C) and I can't remember exactly what happened. My recollection is that the UTM values I got were close to correct, but the size of my discrepancy indicated something was definitely amiss. Careful proofreading of my code didn't turn up any mistakes. Eventually I gave up. I never found out the nature of the typo in the book, and I can't even swear that there was one. But I have a dim recollection of seeing someone mention it online. That was years after I failed to get my program working. Who knows, maybe the problem was me all along, and George's routines will work just fine. Incidentally, I've read that a revision of the Explanatory Supplement is in work. I've never heard of any typos in the DMA publication I suggested, but I haven't used its formulas either.
