Dear Paul,
Great work and Congratulations !
I have done a somewhat similar work with the French Connaissance des Temps - with one (minor) difference from your method : I did compute the equation of time myself instead of getting it from CT (and even in the very first years, in the late 17 th Century, the difference between both results of Equation of Time - i.e. CT and my results - is well below one second of time).
I did not go as "systematic and comprehensive" as you did, but nonetheless all my surveys show the same kind of results as yours, with a very clear improvement by the second part of the 19 th Century.
Congratulations again and
Best Regards
Antoine M. "Kermit" Couëtte
