While searching YouTube for videos of tall ships, I ran across this video of officer candidates learning celestial aboard the USCGC Eagle. Built in 1936, the ship was seized from the Germans after WW2 and is the only active commission sailing ship in the entire U.S. fleet.

At 1m20s a trainee is shown being instructed on taking a sun sight. And throughout, a sextant is visible behind the captain,Wes Pulver, who is being interviewed.
