More than a century of annual reports from the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey are online at NOAA. There is much navigational content in these documents: hydrographic surveys, aids to navigation, longitude determination, etc. I even saw a report on the shrinkage characteristics of paper for charts. http://docs.lib.noaa.gov/rescue/cgs/data_rescue_cgs_annual_reports.html The links in the bibliography may give the impression they download a specific article, but actually you get the entire report for that year. --
