Dava Sobel, author of "Longitude" is quite something. I had the pleasure of meeting her at a book signing in New Paltz, NY many years ago. Amazing recall and ability to talk to a large audience in a captivating conversational mode about her books Longitude, Letters to Father and others.
Afterwards, there was an open Q/A session, many were off the topic of her books in a fun give and take mode. I asked her if the rumor about her was true - that she was a competitive Tango dancer? She responded by saying "Are you interested? We always need male partners!". It brought the house down. What a lady, what a mind.
