Steve, I don't know if you got any other direct replies to your question about a Trimble GPS. This group (NavList) is mostly devoted to traditional navigation, using sextants and such, but there were a couple of other comments on the Trimble GPS last February (shortly after the message you replied to). If you haven't seen them yet, go here http://www.fer3.com/arc/sort2.aspx?y=200802 and scroll down until you see four posts on Trimble GPS.
