Didn't have time this AM to set up my star scope to have a look at the transit of Mercury but, I did take my sextant to work to see if on the off chance I could observe it.
Happy to report that with taking extreme care, I was able to just see the transit with the 12X inverting telescope. Double underscore on the "extreme care".
And yes, I agree with Frank. Not the most riveting celestial event I have seen but hey, at least I can say I saw it.
