Re your broken sun shade, courtesy of airline baggage "handlers", or mishandlers. Did thwey recompense you for damages, and to what extent, one wonders, or did it turn out that the shade was broken prior to being entrusted to them?
By the way, the view of/from the ship's bridge or pilot house looks really impressive, quite a view. Sounds like an interesting trip too.
As to getting rusty with a sextant, I imagine that sextant use is a perishable skill. Use it or loose it.
