Just a reminder, this book by Souchon has been listed in our "resources" section for several years (we discussed it back in 2008). You can view the list of online navigation books that I maintain for the NavList community here:

Speaking of books in French, for you, Antoine, and for anyone who can read French, I highly recommend Marguet's "Histoire générale de la navigation du XVe au XXe siècle" (1931) also listed at the above link. Please let me know if you have any additions for the list.
