Regarding slide rules being "curiosities" these days, likely correct, though somewhat sad I think, for recognizing the limits of the things, what else worked as well, and as some would have it, still do. By the way, just an offhand thought regarding circular slide rules, I have several, I believe that they were always "curiosities", never having overcome the headstart that "stick rules" had.
