Tiny web page editors [was] Use of Sun Sights for Local time, and Lunars for Longitude

George, I'm not sure how "proper equations" would fit into the world of www
pages. Obviously you could build web pages with any simple text editor. If
you confine yourself the the HTML3.2 standard the language is fairly simple
and it was considered normal to literally write the code for the entire page,
then simply open it in a browser (which you already have) to view it, and
    redit it as needed.

But HTML3.2 provides very limited support for equation writing as there is no
easy means to include greek letters--they are not included in the usual
western english character set on the computer. Still, there is support for
subperscript, subscript, lines above/below, and substantial equation editing.
You might want to seek out the old HTML3.2 standards at http://www.w3c.org to
see how powerful this can be--using the text editor you already own, with
whatever character support is already present.

A tiny graphics editor can be used to allow the insertion of small inline GIF
images to extend that further if need be.
