    There is one more problem with such crude pendulum
    which has not been addressed:-)
    And the effect is more substantial than some other effects
    mentioned so far:
    The preiod of a pendulum DOES depend on the amplitude.
    You can neglect this dependence onbly if your pendulum is
    very long and the amplitude is very small.
