If you're really going to be out to sea, a radio is the appropriate way to set your time, at least it was in the 20th century! I looked into clocks that synchronized with wvvv, etc, but concluded that a nice Yacht Boy shortwave radio, or similar, wasn't too much more money, but more useful. I suppose a transmitter and attendant ham license would also be in order, although sat phones could substitute. Time also is available on GPS units, although care is needed.
