    ... I always wondered why does everyone feel they MUST turn on the
    TV on new year's eve to watch the antics in Times Square?
    
    it's one matter that what Californians see on TV actually happened 3 hours
    previously, but for the broadcasters to be off by 2 minutes really lends the lie to it, eh?
    
    
    as far as "digital" time sources go, I wouldn't bother with broadcasters either on
    the web or on radio.  NTP works just fine.
