Greg, here is a scan of a running fix and a scan of an evening star fix.  Also attached are a few photographs.  The Navy warship steamed past us in the narrow straits between Yemen and Djibouti.  Seeing warships makes you feel safe in hostile waters, especially the ocean to the south of here along the coast of Somalia.  Those navy sailors are doing a marvellous job.   The warship launched a helicopter moments before the picture was taken.  For good reasons the warship's AIS transmission was not operating.

Tony, thanks for the comments about dedicated mail servers.  That is valuable information for anyone else doing a similar trip.  Yes, the Sri Lankan seamen were very likeable guys, hard workers, dedicated and very professional.  They were all mad about the game of cricket and had extensive knowledge of the sport. Our cook would prepare 90 excellent meals each and every day, seven days a week - these guys know how to work hard!

    Cheers, David.
